CIRAD is committed to Open Access to Knowledge
The principle of open access has been enshrined in CIRAD’s institutional strategy since 2006. Its research teams are encouraged to disseminate their scientific results as openly as possible.
Open Access to Knowledge is a global movement seeking immediate, open and free access, with unrestricted use, for all original scientific research results, raw data, metadata, source documents, images and multimedia documents.
Open access renders research more effective, improves the visibility of authors and enhances the impact of their work. It removes organizational and geographical barriers that impede the free circulation of knowledge. It facilitates collaboration, strengthening scientific excellence and skills. By permitting the re-use and computerized analysis of published results, open access promotes innovation and interdisciplinarity. It encourages global exchanges to the benefit of the scientific community, the economy and society as a whole (Science Europe Principles on Open Access to Research Publications).
CIRAD is a founding signatory of
- In 2022, the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA).
